Our origin: building a studio by making a show
AKUMedia began as the production engine behind Whispers of the Norse. What started as a straightforward audio podcast needed better sound, a steady production cadence, and consistent distribution. Then it needed cameras. Then graphics. Then a control room. Before long, we’d engineered a full stack capable of delivering a one-hour, ready-for-broadcast TV program—every week.
Along the way, “live” shows spun up on their own—town-hall style conversations, Q&As, community segments. Live meant new pressures: real-time audio mixing, graphics/lower thirds, remote guests, and platform management across YouTube/Facebook/OTT. We built processes and tools to keep the streams solid and the VOD turned around quickly.
Those same systems and habits—tight audio, repeatable show formats, disciplined turnaround—eventually powered a nonprofit 24/7 radio station, extending the reach of a good message and giving the community a continuous voice.
We’ve also produced advertising and PSAs—short, clear stories for both private partners and public initiatives—using the same studio discipline at smaller run-and-gun scale.
